Google Chrome OS
With Google's recent press release, will Microsoft yield to warring factions desperately claiming terrority within it's sphere of influence?
To suggest an open-source operating system, launched by a company with name recognition, will fail is simply ludicrous. With several flavors of Linux bearing witness, it would seem as though the winds of change favors this newcomer in the Computer Architecture arena. With headlines screaming "Dell May Test Google's Chrome OS," logic dictates prudence overrides emotional attachments(meaning, dump the window, get a door!?). It would serve Google well to freely distribute its code amongst PC firms and processors respectively. A quick AMD stint investigating the advantages of an open source OS based system may seem promising... as long as the average PC user does not require a kernel rebuild or a driver custom coded to fit PC build..(Linux meets Windows?)
